MyMovieTaste is a movie discovery app that works like a dating app: swipe right on the films you love, left on the ones you do not, and bookmark the ones you mean to get to. The deck learns from every swipe, so stop scrolling through endless streaming menus and find something to watch tonight in under a minute.
Works in the browser on phone, tablet and desktop.
Browsing every streaming catalogue takes longer than the film itself. MyMovieTaste turns picking a movie into a few seconds of swiping — and gets better at it the longer you swipe.
Thumb up what you love, thumb down what you do not, and wave away anything you are simply not interested in. No forms, no star ratings, no long questionnaire.
The orange bookmark saves a film for later without pretending you already love it. Likes and watchlist stay two separate tabs, so "seen and loved" never mixes with "still to watch".
Every swipe is scored like a chess match, building a rating for each genre, decade and score band you meet. The more you swipe, the more the next cards look like the ones you keep saying yes to.
Start swiping the second the page loads. Your picks are saved as you go, and signing in with Google is only needed to carry them to another device.
A fresh stack of popular and highly rated movies is dealt for you. Nothing to install, nothing to configure.
Right to like, left to pass, or tap the bookmark to save it for later — with a mouse, a finger or the arrow keys. Changed your mind? Undo the last card.
Likes and watchlist each get their own tab, as rows or posters, with search and sorting. Your analytics page shows the taste behind them.
Yes. MyMovieTaste is completely free to use. There is no subscription, no trial and no credit card.
No. You can start swiping right away without an account. Signing in with Google is optional, and its real use is carrying your lists and taste profile to another device.
Movie data, posters, ratings and descriptions come from TMDB, one of the largest open movie databases, and the deck is refreshed with popular and well rated titles.
Every swipe is played like an Elo match: the genres, decade and score band of the film move up when you like it and down when you pass, and a watchlist counts as a softer yes. New cards are then ranked against that profile, with a few unrelated picks mixed in so the deck never narrows to one genre.
A like says you love the film; the watchlist says you mean to watch it. Both are positive, but a watchlist moves your taste profile less than an outright like, and the two are kept in separate lists.
Your first deck is one click away. No account, no cost, no installation.
